Rain, Rain

Trying to define my emotions right now
is like trying to describe a sudden summer shower
in the country
late at night
when you can actually
hear the drops as they hit the leaves.
There are words that might work but
they’re fading away even as I try to capture them,
much like a sudden summer shower
in the country
late at night
when the rain drowns out the words
so I might as well enjoy the downfall
and just for the moment,
forget about the consequences
of getting wet.
